Meraki (meh-RAH-kee) is a Greek word meaning: to do something with love, passion, and creativity….to put your soul into it, and leave a part of yourself in what you do.
It perfectly captures the spirit of our musical duo, whether we’re playing original songs or putting our own lively spin on popular covers and lesser-known gems.
We first got together in 2018 at the Silver City Jam Band’s popular Gospel Music Night, when Nick accompanied Donna on the mandolin for an old Louvin Brothers’ tune, The Angels Rejoiced Last Night. Since then, we’ve performed our spirited blend of classic rock and roots at venues around Tubac and Green Valley.
In March 2021, Meraki was featured on the Green Valley’s Got Talent show at the Community Performance & Art Center.
Donna Rae Dailey
(vocals, guitar)
Singer-songwriter Donna Rae Dailey’s musical influences range from the traditional music of the British Isles to Delta blues to contemporary folk rock and Americana. Her songs, which are often inspired by her travels, tell stories that are sometimes dark, sometimes humorous, always entertaining. She spends summers in the UK and performs on both sides of the pond.
